Sign-Ups
We successfully onboarded over 700 mentees from the six major regions of the African continent. This diverse participation reflects the growing interest and demand for mentorship in helping prospective scholars prepare for their applications to the University of Cambridge and the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship.

Optimisation
Our technical infrastructure ensured a smooth experience for all participants, with support readily available to resolve any issues. Interactive features like breakout rooms, polls, and screen sharing enhanced engagement, allowing mentors and mentees to connect more effectively and ensuring dynamic, impactful sessions.

We developed a vibrant network of scholars and communities, fostering interactive discussions and engagement. Live Q&A sessions and other interactive elements helped to keep the community active, involved, and consistently motivated throughout the mentorship period, promoting a culture of collaboration and support.

In just three weeks, our website attracted over 11,000 views, with visitors from more than 71 countries worldwide. This highlights the broad international interest in the mentorship program and showcases its far-reaching impact beyond the African continent, increasing the visibility of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.

Regions Across Africa
The application mentorship will have a session-specific focus on 8 key regions in the continue that will include those who are refugees and internally displaced. This will ensure that our mentorship is sensitive to the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities within each locale. The regions are meticulously selected, considering various factors, including cultural similarities, time zones, and linguistic commonalities, to provide tailored support and ensure the effectiveness of our interaction

Our mentors consist of 32 accomplished University of Cambridge students who are enthusiastic about sharing their insights, experiences, and strategies with the next generation of aspiring scholars. They have successfully navigated the application process and serve as exceptional role models.

Our digital pre-application mentorship session will cover all aspects of the application process. It will highlight the potential pitfalls to avoid, the checklist of documents to have in place, the key dates for applications, and how to put forth a competitive scholarship application.
